Falls & Co. Continues Holiday Tradition of Spreading Joy, Toys
Most of us likely take for granted that there will be presents for us this holiday season. Unfortunately, not all local families are so fortunate. Despite both parents working or a single mom taking on overtime or a second job, the decision might come down to paying the electric bill or buying toys. Still for others, the choice might land between having food on the table or buying gifts for their children.
That’s a decision that no parent or family member should have to make. Yet, it’s a common challenge for many local families. This year, The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland aims to provide toys to more than 5,000 local children. It’s the biggest request the local chapter has yet to face.
For more than 25 years, Falls & Co. has proudly supported The Salvation Army’s annual holiday toy drive as a corporate sponsor. Over the years, our team has gathered thousands of toys to help Cleveland families share in holiday cheer.
Soon, on festive display in our own lobby, there will be stacks and stacks of toys, from baby dolls to race cars, basketballs, scooters, and so much more. All contributed by generous Falls & Co. employees.
There are many wonderful charities throughout Northeast Ohio, and, throughout the years, Falls & Co. has supported as many as possible. But The Salvation Army maintains a special place in our holiday plans each year because they support our underserved neighbors in so many ways, providing food, shelter, after-school programming, rehabilitation services, spiritual healing, and much more.
Compared to these critical services, toys may seem to matter little. And yet, they matter more than anything to tiny tots who receive them. Toys are a source of joy for children of all ages. Not only do they stimulate imagination and teach the value of sharing, but toys also contribute to the development of cognitive, motor, psychosocial emotional and linguistic skills. They play a key role in raising self-confident, creative and happier children.
We hope other Northeast Ohio companies will join us in this effort to bring joy to our littlest neighbors this holiday season.
